Today I was trying to install Windows 7 x64 on new computer. Setup immediately stopped with the following screen:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disk and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
Status: 0xc0000225
Info: Windows failed to load because the firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible.
I did a google search, and most posts were referring to ‘BIOS setting for APIC (Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller) not being enabled’. However it does not helped much.
Solved this by enabling ACPI BIOS setting.
Hi, can’t thank you enough for this post, I have read loads and loads of pages consisting of stories of repair shops charging for memory moduels needing the frequencies resetting and main bus speed out of sink!! to mother board replacing and plenty of 28 re-formatting and re-installs etc etc and in my case after 12hrs of trying I found this and 15 seconds later all sorted. Many thanks and if I find you in my local Ill buy you a pint. Thanks again, Steve.
I confirm : it works !
Thanks a lot. :-)
Woked for me too. Had just decided to reformat, as I was having some problems. Also reset BIOS settings to default and changed the things I knew needed to be changed.
Must have missed this one.
Thanks :D
